As an art form and a sport, the intricacies of Irish dance choreography are challenging and fun. Irish dance is a great way to promote fitness, rhythm, and coordination.

Cross Training

With intense routines of 2+ minutes and repetitive drilling exercises, Irish dance is a great way to keep up your fitness while also developing strength, balance, and coordination.

Emily Penner, TCRG

With Emily’s first class at 5 years old, Irish dance quickly developed into a lifelong passion. At 10 years old she won her first regional title of Eastern Canadian champion, eventually going on to win the title 12 times. By 16 years old Emily had won the North American Championships and was earning recognition overseas, going on to win the titles of All Scotland Champion, Great Britain Champion, British National Champion, and All Ireland Champion in subsequent years. 

In 2011 Emily was crowned World Champion.

Following her competitive career & after earning her graduate degree, Emily toured the world with several dance shows including Lord of the Dance. She went on to pass her TCRG and become a certified Irish Dance instructor with CLRG in 2017.
